SVN Privacy notice for all members
In accord with Data Protection legislation the Trustees of SVN consider it very important that you know what personal data we may collect from you, how that is done, how it is used and by whom, and for how long that information may be kept.
Your rights and freedoms are also explained in this Privacy Notice.
The Trustees are the Data Controller, and the SVN Administrator acts as the Data Protection Officer, Data Processors are the administrator and members of the leadership team.
Data Protection legislation allows us to process information collected for the legitimate purposes of the organisation and with your consent.

What data will be collected?
- Personal details of SVN members will be collected by completion of the form (see below)
- Initial contact details may be collected via the website, but written consent will be needed as confirmation.
How we will process your information:
- Your name and contact details will be entered into our SVN database which is held on the SVN computer which is password protected and accessed only by the administrator.
- This information will be used to enable SVN to keep in touch with you and provide information re projects, annual reports, project reports, as appropriate, and to maintain accounts.
- Details of those participating in a project will also be kept, together with particular roles, and activities as appropriate, and debriefing notes.
- A copy of the Data base will be sent to members of the leadership team electronically for purposes of identifying possible project team member.
- No hard copies will be available.
- Your contact details will be removed from the database once you are no longer a member of SVN.
- Names and contact details of SVN members will be reviewed every 5 years.
- Project details including names, may be kept for a longer period for archival/reference purposes.
- Any breaches of privacy security will be dealt with immediately.
- You can ask for your details to be removed at any time.
- You can ask for information which you believe to be incorrect to be rectified at any time.
- You may request to see any information we may hold about you (by using a ‘Subject Access’ request).
